Matt is a multi instrumentalist originally from New England, and has been active in the gigging and teaching community of Northern California for the past five years. Beginning his journey as a classically trained violinist at the age of eight, he then went on to learn guitar, piano, mandolin, ukulele and a variety of other stringed instruments. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for Guitar Performance. Apart from performing for live audiences all over the West Coast; Matt has been teaching for over a decade and has not only high expectations for his students, but plenty patience and understanding.

Sean Thompson

Sean has been playing music for more than 13 years. Sean has his degree in musical composition from San Francisco State University, writing music for a variety of ensembles.

As an instructor, Sean has much experience, not only in guitar and composition/theory, but in piano, ukulele, trumpet, trombone, drums, and bass, and has performed in a variety of styles and situations. With all of this experience, Sean has learned that teaching kids their instrument is only the first step.

Sean holds to the belief that each student should not only develop a familiarity with their instrument but be able to apply that familiarity to any situation. Ear training skills and theory are paired with a philosophy that one must always have their ears and mind open to the musical possibilities.

He currently plays lead guitar in The Silhouette Era, as well as a singer in The Holloways, an acapella vocal jazz group."
